Meet some of the Masons from our Lodge below. They have provided valuable insights into their experiences with freemasonry and their stories reflect a diverse range of perspectives, highlighting the personal growth and community bonds fostered through their involvement in this age-old tradition.

W.Bro Edward Page PAGDC PPrJGW
I was born in Worthing and my Grandfather, Percy Page, lived in Worthing too. In 1927, he was the Worshipful Master of the Worthing Lodge of Friendship. I always wanted to follow in his footsteps. I moved to work, marry and raise 3 children in London and lived in Romford. 40 years ago, a work colleague proposed me into Chingford Lodge 2859. I went through the chair, joined Royal Arch, Mark, Knights Templar and Rose Croix. I was made a Provincial Grand Steward and eventually a Grand Officer. I joined Worthing Lodge of Friendship and eventually retired to live in Worthing. I joined Brook Barn Chapter and have recently joined the Red Cross of Constantine order. I have enjoyed my masonic career emensly and it has helped me through life. I have met so many nice people. I have been through the chair of the Worthing Lodge of Friendship and I am now the Lodge Almoner. A very rewarding job.

Bro. Lewis Strotten
My name is Lewis and I was initiated into the Worthing Lodge of Friendship .851, in January 2023. Freemasonry has really helped me connect with history in a way I never expected. Being part of something with such deep roots and traditions makes you feel like you’re contributing to something bigger than yourself. At the same time, it’s had a big impact on me personally—especially when it comes to confidence and public speaking. I used to struggle a lot with speaking in front of people, but through taking part in meetings and sharing my thoughts, I’ve become much more comfortable and self-assured. It’s been a great balance of learning, self-development, and building confidence in a really supportive environment. This has led to me becoming the Deputy Chairman of the West Sussex Light Blues Club in 2025.

Bro. Daniel Burridge
Coming from a background in the Royal Navy, I’ve always valued discipline, structure, and a strong sense of brotherhood—so discovering Freemasonry felt like a natural fit for me. What I really enjoy is that same sense of camaraderie and shared purpose, but in a completely different setting. It’s given me a way to stay connected to those core values while also focusing on personal growth. Freemasonry has also helped me develop in ways I didn’t expect, especially with my confidence and public speaking. In the Royal Navy, you learn to communicate clearly, but this has pushed me even further—helping me become more comfortable speaking in front of others and expressing myself with confidence. For me, it’s been a great combination of brotherhood, self-improvement, and staying grounded in values that have always mattered to me.
